She draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other modalities to meet each client’s unique needs with an eclectic style. She has worked in schools, homes, hospitals, nursing homes and outpatient settings with clients of all ages, specializing in complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, dissociative disorders, personality disorders, ADHD, conduct disorders, and grief and loss. Kim also has a strong background in leadership and clinical supervision. She has supervised both bachelor’s and master’s level clinicians, including interns and residents, and is approved in the state of Virginia to supervise Residents seeking licensure.
Kim has a heart for first responders and has significant experience supporting corrections officers, military personnel, law enforcement, Fire Fighters, EMS, and other frontline professionals. She takes a holistic approach to therapy, recognizing the connection between mind, body, and spirit, and often incorporates conversations about lifestyle, wellness, identity, values and purpose into treatment.
In addition to her clinical work, Kim is the co-founder of Balance Ministries, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals undergoing cancer treatment by providing financial assistance for travel. Her passion for this mission is deeply personal, and she believes no one should have to fight alone—emotionally, spiritually, or financially.
Kim obtained her B.S. in Psychology from Evangel University (Springfield, MO) and her M.A. in Counseling from Liberty University (Lynchburg, VA).
PERSONAL – HEART, STORY & PERSONALITY
Kim is the proud mother of two amazing adult children and has personally walked the long road of grief after losing her husband in 2019, whom she lovingly called “Tall Boyfriend.” Our two beloved office dogs, Jet and Jeannie, happily “reside” with her and bring comfort, laughter, and unconditional love to her and to clients in the office setting. Kim has always had a spirit for sitting with people and being fully present, meeting them exactly where they are with no judgment.
Kim has always lived on the adventurous side of life—zip-lining, conquering roller coasters, riding her motorcycle, bike, jeep or anything with wheels! She embraces anything that brings adrenaline and joy, especially if it involves camping and the outdoors. She believes in the power of laughter—sometimes even at unexpected or inappropriate times—and finds joy in the least likely places. Known for her “spontaneous” ideas that are actually full of thought and intention, she brings creativity, authenticity, and humor into every environment she enters. She is lovingly referred to as “KimTech” because she can solve just about anything—computer issues, household projects, or mechanical problems. If it’s broken, she can probably fix it before you finish explaining the problem.
She enjoys woodworking, cooking, swimming, spending time outdoors, and all things camping. More than anything, Kim is a safe place—someone who will sit with you in your pain, honor your story, and walk with you toward healing and hope
